I've got my MagicEngine running and I think it is fantastic. I'm an old school gamer and my TurboDuo was the best console I've ever purchased.

Problem is I want to be able to play all of the old Super CD's I used to love so much. I have zip folders containing files labelled xxx.bin, xxx.cue and mp3 tracks. I have 10 different system cards labelled xxx.pce. When I try to load a system card I get a "Load Error" message. I can't tell if there is a way to point them to a specific file.

If anybody can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if it needs to be named a certain way, but mine is SYSCARD3.PCE, works fine, try naming it that and make sure it is in the same folder as your pce.exe app file and it should work just fine. I'm going to assume you own the original games and system card and that this is kosher to talk about Wink

Yes, I own a Duo which is unfortunately no longer functional and an Express which is. I also own pretty much any game for them that I would really want to play. There is 1 game that I am doing this primarily for though. The game that came bundled with my Duo, Y's I&II. Unfortunately none of my disks are playable even if my Duo worked. I absolutely LOVED that game and I'm dying to play it again. I remember the first time I turned it on when I was a kid it absolutely floored me because I had never heard a game talk in real voice. Probably my favorite game of all time. But anyway...

I do have SYSCARD3.PCE. I've got it now to where when I load it it pulls up a cd interface. I can move the cursor around it but when I try to push the buttons nothing happens. I think maybe these zip files are intended to be burnt to a cd in order to imitate the original disk. The reason I am thinking that is because some of these zipped folders have a batch file that converts the mp3 tracks to WAV. So far I haven't had any success with it however.

Here are the exact files that are on my Y's I & II folder:
Ys Book 1&2 (mp3).cue
Ys Book 1&2.cue
track-01.mp3
track-02.iso
and the rest are mp3's track-03 through track-43

Y's does not contain the batch file to convert the mp3's but others do. I'm really not sure where to go from here.

It works best if you use a xxx.bin/xxx.cue file. All you do is use Daemon Tools to mount the cue file to your drive and Magic Engine plays them perfectly. I usually use Magic System 3.0 to run all my CDs or CD images. The only game I've ever had a problem with is Camp California. For some reason it just locks up. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else had this problem with Camp California?

Camp California is broken on the 1.0 versions of Magic Engine but plays decently on the 0.99 versions. I reported this to David awhile back, so expect to see it fixed in PR11...whenever it comes out. Very Happy
