Hello,
I am new and I am just about to pay for the purchase of magic engine, but I have a problem maybe someone can help me with, when I try and play It came from the desert, at the title screen it has some black splotches on it,
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k199/Belleaux/desert.gif
And some of the audio while playing the game sounds worse then it did on the regular turbo cd, I hope this is just something wrong with my download or my settings, because for some odd reason I really loved that game and I would love to be able to play it again. And I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions any one has to offer. Thank you in advance
Also it is possible to save games for the Ys CD? My apologies if any of my questions seem stupid I am new to messing with emulators.

Last time I tested 'It Came from the Desert' all was ok, I didn't have those black squares and I think the sound was ok too. Is this an original CD or an ISO?
About Ys, yes you can save games, either from within Ys or from MagicEngine 'save states' menu.
Welcome in the emulation world. _________________ David Michel |

Hello,
I am sorry I am not to sure on what you mean by a rom of a real system card? I have run some turbo graphx 16 roms like bonks adventure on magic engine and everything seems to be working fine. Again I am sorry for any of my lack of knowledge with emulators

In order to run CD games, the console needs a special BIOS called the System Card (already integrated in the Duo). Magic Engine provides a virtual BIOS called the Magic System, but it's not perfect and it's usually better to use a real System Card. Of course you'll need the ROM of the System Card, not the card itself (wouldn't be useful for an emulator, would it).
Just search around for a file called "syscard3.pce" and copy it in your Magic Engine directory. When you launch your game from the Boot CD menu, choose the System Card 3 option instead of the Magic System.
It might not solve your specific problem but it's worth a try. _________________ Kaminarimon HES Music Archive | Tokugawa Corporation | YouTube Channel |

Ahh! I forgot all about the little system hu card that goes into the turbo cd, Thank you for the suggestion! I am going to cross my fingers and hope I can come across syscard3.pce on google. So far I have had no luck. Maybe some of the other members might have an idea where I can download a fresh copy. I had to hunt down the sega cd bios for my sega cd emulator but that was so much easier to find. Thanks Kaminari for your help. I will let you know what the results are when I get my hands on syscard3.pce

Kaminari, I am using the syscard3 and it solved my problem! No more black spots! The audio still sounds scratchy but that game always had shitty sound to it
Many thanks to you and dmichel for all of the help!
