|
|
I'm having trouble getting Dracula X to run. When I try to run Dracula X in any of my CD Drives, nothing happens, in ME it always says "No CD". This made me think that something was wrong with the CD, but I don't think that's it, for when I try to run it, nothing even happens on the Drive, no Sound no load light flash, the Drive doesn't even run. However, when I try mounting the image using Daemon Tools, it plays perfectly, but I don't want to have to play it from my PC, cause it takes up to much space. I tried editing the PCE.ini file and changed the drive letter but nothing changed. Here is a copy of my log from ME.

MikeL, I think a better idea is to go where you got this bad iso/mp3... necropole or alucardengine or whatever. Ask them WHY ther rip don't work, try the tips they give you & don't despair...
Because this is NOT an emulator related problem : this is a CD-R problem so this is out of our hands ...
Good luck. _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |

Nope the CD is perfectly fine. I just tested on my other PC and it loaded perfectly fine, so it's either the emulator or something to do with my CD Drives. Does the ASPI drivers have anything to do with it, also, my 2 drives are a Toshiba DVD-Rom and a Sony CD-RW, does this have any effect on it playing.
Thanks, Mike. |

Is this the only PCE cd in your possession? if you have other cd's, do they work?
Don't bother checking ASPI as Win ME 'isn't supposed' to have problems with it's ASPI support...
As always, the more info the better . _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |

Also, make sure your drives have good multi-read support... I got a DVD drive that doesn't like Magic Engine, at all... _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |

Yeah Dracula X is the only CD I own. But that's ok, I found out the problem. It had to do with Daemon Tools. I had to turn off the drives DT added so that Magic Engine would not bypass my real Drives for the drives supported by DT. So I just want to make a note for anyone else that might be having trouble playing this or any other PCE CD. If you use Daemon Tools make sure you turn off all drvies, so only the real CD-Rom drives are visible.
To Turn them off follow these steps.
1. Right Click on the DT Icon in the System Tray.
2. Select Virtual CD/DVD-Rom > Set Number of Devices > Disable
Then try running it again. This worked for me and now the CD plays perfectly.
Thanks for your help Jabberwork. |
