Lets keep this forum busy!
I'm currently working on Pia Carrot for the PC-FX, I do the hacking part and Matt is doing the translation. So far we have a script decompiler that can dump most of the scripts and soon we should have a working recompiler to insert back the translated scripts. I will post screenshots as soon as we can show something. _________________ David Michel |

Wow Dave, when did you decide to jump on the translation bandwagon?? Now we have two Davids on the scene, you and David Shadoff. That's some choice too, I see, a hentai dating sim. It is distinguished from other versions by its "fully erotic pictures" according to your partner in crime there. Heh. That didn't have anything to do with your choice now, did it?? _________________ Translation Projects: Xak 3, Ys 4, Ys 1&2 Complete

Actually I was tricked, I didn't know at all that it was an hentai game.
I jumped in by pure "hasard", Matt helped me for something and boom the second after I was hacking Pia Carrot, I'm still trying to figure what happened. _________________ David Michel |

That's great to hear! I know it might just be a sim game, but it's good (for me at least) for two reasons: 1. ) A person I talk to actually enjoys the game and recommends it (he speaks the Japanese), 2. ) Any PC-FX translation is good . _________________ LaZer Dorks |

Yeah, any translations are good. I wonder what happened to the guy that started translating akazukin chacha. He had some screens with altered menue text at least. This was years ago though.
edit: Ah saber is here even. ^^
Did you need help with the translation or hacking? |

Yeah! I just came across this a day before this post at Matts site. I was originally looking at the Bubble Gum crash translation when I say this and your name "scripts in progess" _________________ www.pcedev.net |

wow! david michael is working on a translation project, that's awesome. i'm looking forward to pia carrot even though i've never played it, it will be great to see it as the first official pc-fx game translated to english.
i think blue breaker and miraculum would be great projects too...
also, maybe a "pcfx-rip" that does the same thing as turbo rip?

Hey David, how's progress on this ?
I heard from Matt that he has translated a large amount of the text, but I have no idea how much work it would take to reinsert or hack the print function(s).
Also, I'm sure that he'll want to go back and edit the script too... |

Yes, he has almost finished the translation, he is near 90%. He is doing an amazing job!
For my part I didn't have much time to work on the project, I located most of the print functions but I dunno how it all works yet, hacking the code to support a 8x8 font doesn't seem too difficult but apparently they use the same print functions everywhere (dialogs, menus, user choices) and the scripts are preformatted to the different window sizes, I think we will have a lot of script formatting to do too, the translated texts are 2 to 6 times bigger. _________________ David Michel |

Just thought I'd stop by to let folks know that the initial script translation is finished! I know Dave is busy working on the OSX port of ME, not to mention the techinical challenges he mentioned in his last post, so don't get your hopes up too soon, but I wanted to pass on the good news!
It was a pleasure to translate. The script will never live up to my expectations, due to the sheer sense of wonder I used to have while playing this game a whole 10 years ago now. But I think folks will enjoy the charming moments and stories in this game. I'm pleased to have had the oportunity to translate this for myself, and to hopefully pass some of that joy on to others. |

Here is another small present. I made a translated cover for the game. I spent waaaay too much time on this today. I translated the back cover too. I'll probably post it on my projects page ( http://www.mattsmessyroom.com/projects.html) tonight or tomorrow. I'm just trying to decide what to do since there are "mature" images on the back cover. |

Here's one translation project I've been waiting patiently for since it was first announced.
Don't let this one disappear into vaporware, guys! |
