David,
============================
{ +, 1, 0, 1, 0xF8202B, 115, "infinite time" }
============================
Between the lines above is the text that was inside a file that was named "Out%20Run_E203F223.txt". What exactly do I do with the text between the two lines? In the text above, what numbers are the "value" and what numbers are the "address"? What does "E203F223" have to do with............anything?
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Regards,
Bill "The Colonel" N.

Oh sorry for the lack of explanation, just copy the text file in the 'cheats' directory, ME will load it automaticaly, you don't have to enter the code manualy.
"E203F223" is the checksum of the Outrun ROM, ME uses this number to identify the file. _________________ David Michel |

Hi David,
First congratulation for the release, sounds really great (only checked the changelog so far, didn't try it yet).
I was wondering if you could make that all cheat codes were loaded from a single "cheat.dat" (or whatever you want) file.
Could be easier/cleaner to manage/update.
I still have all my EmuCheats codes that i could convert and prepare a nice and ready to use cheat database for you that way.
Something like :
{gamechecksum} - {game title}
[cheat name] - [cheat on/off]
xxxxxx cheat code
{gamechecksum} - {game title}
[cheat name] - [cheat on/off]
xxxxxx cheat code
etc...
well something like the Mame cheat file to make it short. _________________

Hmm, I like the one cheat file per game, it's easier for trading and installing cheat, but it's true that a single file can also be interesting, hmm... may be I could write a little 'import/export' utility to convert from one format to the other? _________________ David Michel |

I looked at the Mame cheat file format, it can't really be used as is, some changes will be required, in what format are your EmuCheat codes? _________________ David Michel |

Does the ME cheat engine allow for cheats to be applied conditionally based on values of arbitrary RAM locations(or even the location the cheat is being applied to)? |

No, it doesn't support conditions, it's a basic cheat engine. _________________ David Michel |

Do you defer application of cheats in CD games until the game's entry point is called(with a real BIOS)? |

A bit before the game's entry point is called, the cheats are activated during the execution of the boot sector.
All the CD/SCD RAM can be patched but the cheat interface in MagicEngine only search the main RAM. _________________ David Michel |
