i have read through the msg board and have tried everything i can think of to get magic engine to acknowledge my cd-rom. still says no cd! gens sega cd works fine. i have windows xp and have tried most versions. the game i am trying is dracula x. would daemon tools be able to load the .cue if it worked properly? becaue i get an error msg when i do this. dracula x is the only game i've tried. can daemon tools normally be used to play games? any help will be greatly appreciated!
thank you =]

Hi,
Is your copy of Dracula X an original or a burnt one? If the latter, your log file indicates that the burning may have gone wrong. Can you listen to the audio tracks in a regular CD player?
Also make sure that your INI file looks like this:
;
; CD-ROM drive letter
; --
; (Windows 2000/XP only)
;
; D:
; E:
; ...
;
drive_letter=D:
As for Daemon Tools, yes it seems to work for many people. I'll let the specialists of virtual drives tell you more about it
Has anyone noticed that most of the CD problems reported on the board seem to be related to Windows XP? Go figure... |

its a burned cd. i tried playing it in a regualar cd player, and it plays the audio. still no luck however, even after putting the drive as D, and disableing daemon tools.
thank you  |
