Having trouble loading it in Magic Engine Beta 5 registered. When I tried to load it I get a system disc error. I tried using the system rom 3.0 and magic engine 3.0 one. Why is this happening? |

Probably that your ROM is not the System 3.0. Arcade Card support only works with a real System Card 3 ROM, not with the Magic System. Try to get another one. |

256 KB like the other System Cards.
Look for "Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J)" at your usual ROM provider (in the GoodPCE set), that should point you to the right direction. |

Your problem is NOT the system card as I believe the RIGG group to be trustworthy. Your problem lie in : your os, your pc, overall configuration of both your pc & the ini file of magic engine.
At the very least, maybe a compatibility issue.
Did you notice you didn't tell us if it's an original or a "backup"? I guess the later... _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |

No, I believe the problem's definitely related to the system card, since the disc error screen you're seeing only appears when the game can't detect any Arcade Card support. And the Arcade Card support is only activated in Magic Engine when using a real Super System Card 3.0 ROM, not the built-in Magic System.
Look for a good ROM on Google ("Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J)") and specify your path in the relevant setting:
;
; system card paths
; --
;
system_card_1=
system_card_2=
system_card_3=D:\Emulation\Magic Engine\ROMs\Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J).pce
system_card_4=
If that doesn't work... Well, the burning process may have gone wrong

Huh?
You should leave this line blank for best results. |

The system card not being identified may very well be the problem, oh ya...
On my box, every system card has it's own path & everything is just peachy .
You know Kam, we have enough material through the many posts here to write a proper faq to be delivered with Magic Engine, too bad we are using it's last incarnation before the big one point 0 ...

Chances are of finding the system card are pretty slim if they're all the same size... Could be a bad burn.. Burnt Drac X the same way though and it works. Bin/Cue released from RiGG... |

Which is why I think it would be so helpful if someone could send me their tested system card 3 to me so I can see if it really is the system card. |

No no. Like Kaminari said, first check your system card's path in the ini file & make sure it's pointing at the right folder & the right name. AFTER that, if you still have problems THEN it's a bad disk, NOT a defective system card image...
The RIGG group are dedicated fans & are trustworthy. So the image you got from them is perfectly fine .
Check your path first! _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |
