When I click BOOT CD I got only NO CD
no cd-rom detected
I have to load ME-FX with -cd:G to be able to run the game

Here is cd section in log

I have no problem with ME.
I am currently running Windows Vista.
The ini file is untouched. (try to add drive_letter=G: but no luck )

Another problem is the game run too fast.
Can I set anything in ini to solve above problem

It's strange, if the game starts with -cd:G it should appear in the 'BOOT CD' menu too, both use the same detection routine. What kind of CD is it, CD-R, ISO, or original? Also could you post the full log when you run it with -cd:G?

About the speed, hmm this can happen if the VSYNC video option is enabled and your monitor refresh rate is higher than 60Hz, don't use VSYNC or try 'mode 2'.

I made some changes to the CD-ROM driver, may be this will help.

Hi,

I had the same issue with ME FX 1.1.1 and this test build does fix the error and the CD loads properly now.. any chance that this fix could be incorporated into the current build soon? I'm not entirely sure which version this test build was based off of, though...

Woot! Old thread, but glad I found this. ME test fix my cd/dvd driver issue too. Maybe a permanent fix in near future?

The link you provided fixed my problem too; however the LINK (http://www.magicengine.com/files/mefx111-demo.zip) on the main page doesn't detect my CD-ROM. Perhaps you can make an official update to the demo and link?
