Not sure if this is a problem or not.....it's a bit anoying tho

ok.. so there is a noticable delay in the sound on ME.
e.g. a shootemup, when I hit fire, there is a delay before it makes the shooting noise....so I check around the ini, and I notice the sound delay option...

So I have set it down to "2", and the delay is still really noticeable.

Am I doing something wrong...or is this how it is?

Spec :
P4 2.4
512 ram
80gig hdd
SB audigy soundcard

Cheers

Sparky.

Leave the line blank like this :

;
; delay
; --
; adjust sound buffer delay (2 - 30), in 1/60th of second
; (best delay is auto detected by default)
;

delay=

If it doesn't work then your problem lies with either Windows and/or the Audigy...

yeah.. sorry.. should have said in my post. It seems to be the same if I leave it blank, or if I put in "2".

So I had kinda figured it must be something other than ME...not sure where to look now tho Surprised(

cheers anyways

Maybe the Audigy is at fault here? Any other users with an Audigy out there? if so, any problems?

Are you able to tell us if you have sound problems with any other emus and/or PC games?

Can you tell us the make/name of your motherboard? it might just be a PCI lag problem...

What you can do is : Visit your motherboard manufacturer and ask in ther forums if anyone else is having problems with this particuliar board and an Audigy...

Tip : the more info you give them, the better they can help you Smile .

Hope this helps...

Hi.. thanks for the input.

I have no problems with anyother emus or apps etc.

I also use this computer/soundcard for making music
http://www.indiscriminate.co.uk
and it performs really well...so I'm pretty sure it's not pci lag... but I will check it out anyways.

I'll have to try one of my other soundcards to see if I get the same problem.......if I can be arsed Surprised)

heh... like I say... thanks for the input..it's givien me a starting point, but yeah... it would be cool if any other ME users have an audigy and are having a similar problem could post up here too.

no..that's the weird thing.... it was doing the delay thing for a couple of days.... then all of a sudden it wasn't.

I work in IT support...so I KNOW it can't have fixed itself (I spend all day telling my users how things don't go wrong on their own)...but for the life of me, I can't decide what has stopped it doing it.

hmm

Well here's my case, the I have both sound and frame delays after switching to Win XP, I thought the new version of ME has problems, after using older version, the same thing, anyone can provide tips, it might be configuration?
