I know that Magic Engine 1.0 is a total re-write of the code to increase compability, but isnt there a chance that many games that work wont work anymore because of this rewrite too? Or do you know of a way to stop that from happening?
Is there any current updated compability list of games not working that do work in 1.0? I know that steam Hearts is pretty high on many people's lists, mine too. |

Yes, lots of testing. 
And I begin to know well the PC-Engine hardware, actually the new version is more compatible than the old one, specialy with CD games. Of course it's always possible that a few games stop working, I can't test all, but I don't expect this number to be big, and in all case a fix will be easy to make.

No list, I didn't have time to test all my games yet.
For now I know only of a few games that work now :
Top O Nerae! GunBuster Vol. 1
It Came From The Desert
1552 Tenka Tairan
Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective
Fighting Run
but I expect a few more to work too as I fixed an important bug in the CD emulation. I things that most CD games that were freezing may work now.

What I like about you David, is that you're not afraid to completely re-write everything from scratch... I mean three times!
Now if every emu authors were like you...

When is the Version 1.0 going to come out?
I've tried many different versions of Magic Engine with different system card ROMS, but my original CD games simply won't work (Macross 2036 and Macross Eternal Love songs).
Where can I get a beta to test? |

Ummmmm, a common rule for basically every emulator in exsistance is to never ask when a new version of an emulator is coming out, itll be out when its out.
And I doubt a random person they dont know will be chosen to beta-test, if they were allowing open beta tests it would be listed on the main page.
Just wait, I do. |
