|
|
Hi, while playing Sapphire on the MagicEngine emulator, I noticed that it doesn't have the flicker that sometimes occurs when playing the game on the Duo system (for example, while shooting when messages appear at the center of the screen). Does this have to do with the refresh rates of my computer monitor/TV or is it that flicker is being removed by the emulator? |

It's removed by the emulator, a true PC-Engine can display only 8 sprites per line, if more are displayed there's flickering, MagicEngine doesn't have this limitation. _________________ David Michel |

No limits, good. But could an 8 sprite limit be programed without too much trouble? You know, as an option just to be more exact emulation wise ... _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I agree with you, it's awesome playing the old Duo games with filtered graphics and no flicker but it would also be cool having the option of playing them without graphics improvements as well. |

Hmm, yes it should be possible. _________________ David Michel |

Good news . This could give Magic Engine a more authentic look & feel...
Since we are on the accuracy subject, what else is missing? Not much im sure... _________________ If you translate Pole Position in French with babelfish you get 'Position de Polonais'... I think it's hilarious... from a French point of view. |

Does this also happen to After Burner II on a real machine? _________________ What? |
