I have a few games that were made from bin/cues burned using SAO with fireburner at 8x (slowest my drive supports). On an initial look, the TOC generated by MagicEngine seems to match the TOC at the TOC archive mentioned somewhere on this board.... I didn't check the entire thing, but the first several lines match exactly.

I still have a few problems:

Ys Book I & II:
When you go to the thief’s hideout in Ys book I and he allows you into darm tower. The audio for his dialogue stutters a bit and cuts the last couple of words off.

There is a bit of mixing with the midi town music and the CD audio when you leave a town (just for a few moments).

Valis II:

The intro is fairly well synced (How perfect should it be?) In the intro it shows this scene where it shows 3 different villains (don't remember their names), and right before this the whole emulation seems to choke/stutter to load this.

In the intro to stage 1 right before the Yuko says, "Come". The whole emulation seems to pause/stutter for a long CD load...This happens to some extent even if I mount the bin/cue with Daemon tools....I thought it might have been the CD spinning up to full speed.

In a nutshell:

If the game is burned with SAO from a Bin/Cue and the TOC matches a verified TOC, does this mean I have a "perfect" copy. I'm trying to figure out if it is my hardware, the way the games were burned, or the emulation....My Turboduo died so I can’t test them on the actual machine.

Running all of this on a 1.4 (something) Gig machine with the audio cable directly connected to the sound card. My CD drive does not support slowing the speed down.

Not exactly the right forum to talk about CD burning issues. Go to NEC Archives for adequat help about this.

Edit: NEC Archives as we know it is dead.

Goban's speech in Ys Book I&II is adpcm, it's not redbook CD audio. A stamped disc would do the same thing. This sound better on a DUO.
