|
|
I'm running Windows XP SP2.
I have ASPI v4.6 installed.
When I launch a CD base game, the audio appears to be stuttering. I've tested this on: Valis I, Ys Book I & II and Last Alert. The video plays fine, it only appears to be the audio (in game as well).
I am using the syscard3.pce ROM (verified with GoodPCE).
If I can provide any other info on this, please ask. |

Just out of curiosity do you happen to have Kerio PF 4.1.2 installed? It's been causing alot of problems with emulators and other games as well as media players when installed on XP SP2 for many people. |

Same problem here, but Windows 2000 (SP4), and ASPI 4.71.2.
No Kerio FW installed.

I'm running Windows Xp Sp2 pro and i'm experiencing the same choppy ccda sound with cd games
Dunno how the cd access are handled in this release , but it seem to cause lot of lag/be way slower than the previous Me version (099b5)
I tried with the latest Aspi/force Aspi drivers and none will fix.
I don't have such problem with 099b5.
Oh and Steam Heart's is still be broken and will crash the emulator when starting 1st stage.
*Edit*
Steam Heart's seems to work afterall , it doesn't crash anymore.
Well i'll do better test when the cd issue will be fixed , cause it's kind of buggy and unaccurate to make them while the game pausing every 2secondes :p during cd access. _________________

No Kerio FW installed here.
I also don't have this issue with the older version of ME. |

Yup, it's a kind of intermittent freeze every 2 seconds. Moreover, CD accesses are lagging as well -- just tried Cobra 2, the game freezes for about a second whenever it tries to load something (a new scene, a new sample...). |

First off, congrats on overcoming XP's odd way of reading CDDA games. I was starting to wonder if I'd ever get to play the game with the audio. After a particularly nasty encounter with Daemon Tools and it's mysteriously vanishing virtual driver which resulted in a factory restore having to be done since boot up couldn't occur (I've sworn of "virtual drives" because of that), I've been waiting patiently for this release to see if the problem could be overcome.
With that said, I too have stuttering audio in my CD game, Dracula X. It seems to play for a second, then pause for 1-2 seconds, then play for another second, then pause again. It does this for both cinemas, and with the "in game" music.
Also, there's a strange, broken up ghost image of the Konami logo after it disappears in Dracula X. The cinemas and stages and such all seem to run fine, but the blank screen at the very beginning of the opening cinema hangs on to parts of the logo until the cinema's graphics come up.
Anyway, just thought I'd add this to the stuttering CD audio bug report, and say nice job on the emulator |

I wonder if forceAspi can do the trick, even though ME doesn't need ASPI. _________________ Proud owner of a Dreamcast, Saturn, Turbo Duo and a registered version of ME since 2002. |

I managed to get Dracula X to run by using a SystemCard 3.0 ROM, but I also get the studdering audio.
I've tried copying WNASPI32.DLL to the MagicEngine directory, but same studdering results. |
