Tried 2 different controllers. One is a Saitek P880 and the other is a Logitec rumblepad 2. They don't work no matter how you map the buttons. Also made sure the analog was turned off. |

RadioShack PlayStation to USB adapter here with a Dual Shock. No longer responding to input in games but showing up on the controller config screen. |

My SmartJoy USB adapter appears in the control settings as well, I can map the buttons but it doesn't work ingame. Seems like USB gaming devices aren't recognized by ME 1.0. |

Thats why I'm curious to know if Davids Sidewinder was serial or USB. |

Swell. This is presenting a strong case as to why public betas months before release makes life easier for the coder as well as the end user. Not being smart, but take it as you will...... |

According to log.txt, Magic Engine recognizes my Gamepad:
Code: | scanning gamepad device(s)...
- gamepad 0 : Thrustmaster FireStorm(TM) Dual Power Gamepad (buttons=13, axes=3, povs=1)
found 1 gamepad(s) |
I get the generic controller configuration screen, with no picture... which I don't really care about.
However, no button presses are registered during gameplay; so I can't use my gamepad to play games... That's not good... |

I have a radioshack DualShock/DualShock 2 to usb adapter, and it sees it as a generic gamepad, but I get no response in game. I also have a thrustmaster dual analog pad, and a Saitek P880. ME pr 1.0 sees all 3, but none of them recognize any input. They're all usb gamepads.
Edit: Why didn't anyone tell me I called my Saitek pad a Thrustmaster?

Well, I guess that we can pretty much conclude that there is a problem with ME 1.0 and most USB Gamepads.
Unfortunately, this really puts a damper on this release because I'm relegated to the keyboard... and that's no fun. |

I'm not even gonna bother with it. It will be fixed at some point, I suppose. If not, Serial Pads will be making a come back! |
