|
|
What are the command lines to launch into CD emulation in the 1.0 PR? I know this was taken out of .9/win but was supposedly going to be reintroduced (after a lot of email pestering )
I've tried the usual guesses like pce -cd G: -cdrom G: etc, but no luck. |

To start a CD game from the command line just load a system card ROM : "pce syscard.pce", you can't select the drive yet though. _________________ David Michel |

just a thought for a quick fix...
could we get the old [cdrom] drive_letter=E: option back in PCE.INI for when you're running from command line? would keep you from having to add any other command line switches for it... (or does this option already exist just not in the default PCE.INI anymore?) not really sure how much of the old codebase is still lurking in there
[cdrom]
; CD-ROM drive letter
; --
; (Windows 2000/XP only)
;
; D:
; E:
; ...
drive_letter=E: |

This code is in the new version, I will enable it in the next preview.
I had to rush to release the preview version (too many problems at the last minutes) so a lot of code is still waiting to be tested/enabled but it's there. _________________ David Michel |

I noticed that I can use my second drive G via a small trick: I put the disc in the drive, let it spin, I click on Boot CD, ME complains about no disc in my first drive (F: ???), I right-click to cancel the Boot CD menu, click again on Boot CD, and voilą, ME has switched to the second drive (G: PCE CD).
Sometimes it takes a couple of right-clicks but it works here |

Hey, it's not a trick, it's a feature.
I'm not sure if this works for everyone though.
MagicEngine list the first drive with a PCE CD in it in the boot cd menu, and logicaly you don't have to close and re-open the menu, it should be updated automaticaly, can you confirm if it works automaticaly? It takes quite a few seconds to be updated though. _________________ David Michel |

The cd menu doesn't update automatically here. I've got to highlight the letter in the menu, or close and open the menu again, to get the right letter with "PCE CD" label. |

Ah, indeed it updates itself automatically, but on my second drive (a CD burner), it takes about 15 seconds |

I didn't say it was fast.
It's not supposed to be quicker when you exit/re-open the menu though, speed should be the same. _________________ David Michel |
