I am using a Playstation 2 controller connected via a USB adapter. The latest release seems to have ameliorated the problem of recognition (at least for this controller), but now it only seems to recognize the Select, Start, L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons.

Hopefully soon I will be able to use the Square and Triangle buttons as I did in version 0.99. Fortunately, it is still playable, just awkward with only the shoulder buttons usable Mr. Green ! In the meantime, congrats and thank you for your hard work on MagicEngine!

That's strange. Have you checked in the Gaming Options of Windows how are labeled your missing buttons? It may be that in ME you're trying to remap the wrong buttons on your pad. My PSX pad is fairly straightforward in the way its buttons are ordered, but I also tried with a Saturn pad and the buttons were ordered in a completely different and anarchic way :)

Thank you for the advice, but unfortunately, I've tried selecting every combination of buttons available in the gamepad config window, and the result seems to be the same: it only recognizes the shoulder buttons as buttons I and II. I can't figure out why in the config menu, the button spaces are labeled L1/R1, L2/R2, and L3/R3, which is unusual, since I believe the original six-button Turbopads' buttons were labeled I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. Strange....

I tried editing the PCE.INI file and the only thing I was able to do was shut off the FPS and sound meters, as there is no option to manually configure the buttons. The log file does recognize my pad as a Dual USB Force Feedback Device Pad. I wish there was an option to configure buttons by clicking and then assigning commands to buttons by pressing them. Hopefully, this will be ironed out in future revisions.

I too get that when I used my dualshock controller. I agree.that I wish that ME 1.0 had the same method to assign the buttons like v0.99b5 has. Since I can't map the buttons correctly I had to go back to using my Sidewinder Gameport Pad for ME 1.0. While I use the dualshock on all other console emulators.
