MagicEngine 1.0 PR 6

No big changes but many little bug fixes in the emulation.

Snatcher and It Came From The Desert are fully playable now. Smile

Seems much better, most everything working ok - but I still can't map 'buttons' to the up/down/left/right like i could in .99 :\ makes it impossible to play without using a hack like joy2key (that i won't do)

is the CD drive selection for command line enabled in this release? how do we use it if so? just set the drive in the INI?

Fyi, the graphics corruption following the Konami logo in Dracula X is still present. Also, corruption in the scrolling background when in full screen mode is again present on my X800XT PE. It had been fixed in PR 5.

Seems pretty good other than that. Keep up the good work David!

Re-download PR 6, it's a new one with new options in the gamepad menu. Smile

About the command line, no, CD drive selection is not there yet.

It should be the same as PR 5, I didn't do any change in the GUI/GL code, strange...

big thumbs up on the new pad stuff, works great!
Only thing I could see improvable on it is splitting POV Hat up into the 4 specific directions and letting you map any function to it (i've seen some pad adapters that map the right analog stick as POV, for example - it's wierd but happens). That way at least you'd have any whackjob configuration imaginable covered Smile

I also have the Radeon GUI bug mentioned above - on a 9600 Pro card using Catalyst 4.11 - it doesn't really hurt anything, though, but still just letting you know it's there on more cards

This build (or maybe a few back, I missed a couple) also seems to fix the sound hangup when exiting from a command-line launched game! wheee

Command line CD: it seems to be (correct me if I'm wrong please) defaulting to the first drive with a PCE CD inserted. That's actually fine with me, but being able to have tighter control via the INI would still be nice.

This is the first build I'm able to use without any real gripes, good job!

EDIT: Played around some more and found one slight thing - not a bug, just a feature request. The 'Turbo' button, can we have an option to make that not be a toggle? Simply have it so that turbo is only enabled as long as the button is held down?

dmichel - Thank you!!! I have wanted to play the Turbo CD version of It Came from the Desert for over a decade and today, I finally did! Great job.

There's a little sound glitch sometimes at the end of some of the videos. I don't know if it's just the game or what, but you might look at that if you get time.

thanks again! Go Magic Engine!

If you're talking about the cracking noise at the end of some videos, it's due to the game.

In this version, the game ,Nacro no Yousai, window box is not shaking anymore, but there's a line glitch in the middle of the screen, it looks like old Fantasy Zone bug....seems timing is slightly inaccurate...probably you could adjust this later on....

I just found a cosmetic bug on the CD player LCD.

The Elapsed mode displays a minus sign. None of the Time modes is actually supposed to display this minus sign, it should be only displayed when there's a gap between two tracks (the minus sign is used as a countdown counter before the start of the forthcoming track).

Ah... I was not sure about this minus sign and my duo is dead so I couldn't run a test... interesting. Thanks Kami. Smile
