Don't you find some of those old Tg16 tunes are SOOOO! good! I think a "log wave" option or some special tg16 audio format (like NSF is to NES, SPC is to SNES, and GYM is to Genesis). What do you think? _________________ DJ NIGHT FORCE 9 WUZ HERE!!!! |

There already exists a music format for the PC Engine. It's called HES (Hudson Entertainment Sound, if I recall correctly). It's not a log format like GYM or SPC, it's more of a rip format much like NSF and SID.
But a log format would be a very good idea though, especially for all those CD games which have PSG music but are not dumpable in HES yet. Why not use the open VGM format used by Omar Cornut in his excellent Meka emulator? Could be a good start for David. (Some diplomacy could be useful too, but I think I can help here )

Magic engine can be put in a window. Therefore, I can log the wave output from an external wave recorder. I'm listening to "Genji Tsushin Agedama - Main Level Theme 1" as I type this message. Also I knew about VGM, but its SMS and GG, not TG16. _________________ DJ NIGHT FORCE 9 WUZ HERE!!!! |

Well, it sure started as an all-around Sega sound format, but it's definitely opened to any other soundchip willing to be part of the project.
As for HES, since many people don't seem to know much about it, I'll have a section dedicated to it when my site (hopefully) opens in the near future. _________________ Kaminarimon HES Music Archive | Tokugawa Corporation | YouTube Channel |

just don't name your site anything like gameworks98.com sega doesn't like that. They'll come over and beat the hell out of you and take your domain name from you. Then you'll have an ugly url like http:\\ozzy98.ezhoster.com |
