I'm back!
And welcome to my little development blog.
At the moment I'm trying to see what I can do to speed up a bit the new version, the new CPU and VDC cores work great but they are a bit slow compared to the current version. Without changes the minimun requirement to run MagicEngine will be a 1.6+GHz computer, which is about twice more than the current requirement, this is not that much but I would still prefer to keep it at around 1GHz.
I don't want to spend too much time on that though, the new version has been delayed enough already. ^^; _________________ David Michel |

Welcome Back!
Don't worry to much about the CPU requirement. Most CPU's today are and have been well over 1.6ghz for years. My Acer Aspire Atom based netbook runs ME without issues, so most people are going to be good to go if you up the specs.
And ya with the delay, eh? |

BTW, Some time ago, there was discussion about extending the cheat search functions into the cd-rom address areas. Will that still be a reality[please say yes]? |

Okay, he just contacted me and informed that he is not dead.
At least, he wasn't dead when he contacted me. I can't guarantee that he did not die later. |

Been a long time since we had some sort of update. Hopefully, this can only mean we have a lot to look forward to in the new version!! |

It just came to me that June 2011 will mark the 3rd anniversary of the last release of Magic Engine.
Three years seem to be the standard development time required between two major versions. Hopefully ME2 is not too far away...! _________________ Kaminarimon HES Music Archive | Tokugawa Corporation | YouTube Channel |

You can discern that from the monthly contests for registered users which are still conducted. Winners for the month of June posted:

Hey Nightwolve! I can't keep up with all this new homebrew stuff, but I sure wish I could! Have you purchased any new homebrew games? If so, which ones, and what do you think? _________________ The J'lord! |

Long time to talk, eh? Posting nearly 10 years later...
So yeah, is everyone alive?
I'd love to see that proposed new version! I'm even willing to buy another license of ME. Not version begging or anything, only interested in continuing support of this program and the platform in general.
ME has always been a cut above the rest and I still use it to this day! Still runs perfect on Windows 11 too! |
