Hi, I have a problem in Ys 4.
When I go down to the first mines in the game I can play for about five to seven minutes before all controls stop responding. Not only that but I cannot alt-tab or ctrl-alt-delete the process. My entire computer locks up and I have to hard reset or power down.
I can start a new game and play perfectly fine in any other area, but it always crashes in the mines.
I absolutely adore Ys games and would love to finish this one.
I don't think it's my cd as it's not scratched and have made clean bin/cue's out of several games.

My computer specs are:
Windows XP sp3 32-bit
Amd X2 5600 2.7ghz
2g RAM
Nvidia 8600gts - driver 258.96
MagicEngine 1.1.3

I have tried the other emulator I saw around here TurboEngine, but it's quite finicky and sometimes doesn't exit right and doesn't write to the save ram.
Any other emu's to try? (I really had a hard time writing this last question. I love MagicEngine, but any options would be welcome.)
Thanks.

Try Ootake. http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/pcengine/ootake.html

I havent had the problem you are experiencing, but you can give Ootake a shot. That will at least let you know if it is the disc or not.

No, it's not exactly the same thing. Kitao Nakamura provides the latest release of his emulator on his own site. The portal you linked to has an out-of-date version.

And let's be honest, most people don't bother looking for the original author's site through a resource portal, when said portal provides them with a direct link to the emulator. You have no idea how many people came around here asking for support for ME 0.9 because that's the version they got from an emulation portal, when they could have got the latest releases directly from this site.

I guess I can see your point. There is a link to the homepage there as well though.
