|
|
Running windows XP. I burned the exact same copy of Dracula X both on diff CD's. One on the Memorex (loads) and the other on a Verbatim datalifeplus (which is of higher quality). The tests I did were:
Tested the Memorex one my creative labs cd drive sometimes it loads sometimes it doesnt.. Probably due to my CD drive dying..So I test it on my Plextor drive which loads the CD all the time. I popped the Verbatim cd in both the drives. The Creative drive soemtimes load it and the plextor always does. But the problem is, the CD will get passed the system card screen and just stay blank. The CD Drive led light stops blinking.
I've tried both the magic engine systems card and the real one. I played the CD in a CD player and the music plays so I believe the Verbatim is burned correctly. Both CD's were burned at 8x. The CD's work because I burned otehr stuff with them and they read fine. Even otehr CD games which were read fine.
THe only problem I have is in Magic Engine. ANy Ideas? ME just doesn't like em?
Here's my log:

It looks like you have a bad ISO of Dracula X, I didn't check the track layout but the first data track (track #2) has a bad CRC checksum, either the ISO files are corrupted or there was a problem during the burning process. Try to get the ISO from a diff source... _________________ David Michel |

But it was an ISO from the RiGG group... The CD also plays find in the cd player... Using the CD drive I could skip tracks to listen to music.. hrm.. Maybe a bad burn.. Any way I can check the checksum of the ISO? |

Ok I tried CDRWin 3.9B as well as 4.0a and Fireburner 1.06. The 3.9B burned it but it was pretty messed up (audio scrambled) and coudlnt be recgnized as a game. I'm pretty much giving up or I'll try a new burner later. |
