How do I stop Magic Engine sound from crackling like crazy? I'm using Windows XP on a 1GHz PC with DirectSound driver. Even several tracks of analog emulation synthesis doesn't make this computer have buffer underruns, so what's wrong with Magic Engine, here? |

This problem happens because MagicEngine can't auto detect the best sound buffer delay to use on your PC, go in the pce.ini file and change the [sound] 'delay' option manualy, try values from 2 to 10 (the lower the better), that should fix the problem. _________________ David Michel |

I've tried that two or three different times. It doesn't work. The sound problem doesn't even change it's character, it remains exactly the same. |

You can also try to disable or lower the sound card hardware accelaration. You will find this setting under start -> parameters -> config panel -> sound -> audio -> advanced. _________________ David Michel |

The audio track on the ISO I found are all cracky when I listen to the cd.
The problem is generated by the track themselves and not the emulator.
So if anyone know where can I find a good ISO of Dracula X, pleas tell me... |

Try burning your image in 1x before looking for a new ISO. And listen to the original WAV/MP3/OGG audio files you got with your archive, just to get an idea of their quality. |
