Hello,
In the PCE Ini file I noticed an option for the CDrom cache. It is off by default. Will I get any kind of performance gain (load time, etc.) by enabling it?
Exactly what files does Magic Engine create for saved games? I want to make a separate folder for game saves to keep better track of them (I like to keep my emulators tidy).
I have been having a problem with Dracula X. When I first get to a boss encounter, the game will freeze for about 5-6 seconds and then It starts back up. It only happens at the Boss fights. Just a minor thing I know, but annoying. I've also noticed at the intro the voice starts, and then stops and restarts when the subtitles start to appear on screen. I have confirmed these glitches with a burn and an original CD.
Thanks for your time, Denzilla |

Probably the game is loading the boss, or the laser lens is trying to find the audio track for the music. It happens on my mom's laptop, since the drive kinda stops often for some weird reason. But not on my brother's. At least the game doesn't crash on you. If you play on an actual Duo, you will notice the game sometimes kinda freezes or slows down as well, though for less time. Gate of Thunder is a good example of this. _________________ Proud owner of a Dreamcast, Saturn, Turbo Duo and a registered version of ME since 2002. |

I guess I could be having worse problems. Funny thing is that I didn't have this problem until I installed an ASPI layer on my XP machine. I would just get rid of it, but my other emulator Gens won't see the cd drive unless the ASPI layer is installed. Since no one seems eager to fix that problem, I'll put up with it. |
