Greetings to everyone,
I am a regular viewer of the bug report threads and very fmiliar with emulation (former beta tester of many emus). i would like to mention some serious bugs i discovered in Dracula X after playing it thoroughly enough in both copied version (perfect 1:1 copy, identical to the original) and a friend of mine's original japanese copy. The following bugs were found in both versions:
1.Richter turns blue in water levels and generally in some levels with stairs which lead downstairs.
2.In many stages but most visible in the first boss battle (purple flying dragon) you can see in the background a "tearing" and graphic layer "tilt" like the screen goes up and down if you look carefully enough.
3.Some cutscenes play no sound at all.
4.At the start of every level a small sound "pop" is heard in both original and copied versions as if the levels itself open your sound card each time they load (note: you have to turn up your speakers volume high enough to hear that pop but is still audible and annoying and has to be removed).
5.At the second stage of Dracula's metamorphosis cycle (while he is in the air and he is about to shapeshift) when the screen is filled with the white light of metamorphosis the graphics are "torn" and the graphic emulation and animation isn't good. Specifically on the top of the screen there is a horizontal gap.
6.At the second boss intro (werewolf) the howling sound is choppy. have experimented with different levels of samplerates and interpolation values but the problem is still there.
That's all. Other than that the game runs perfect. I would be more than satisfied see all of the above fixed some day so we can all enjoy a perfect Dracula X game. Thanks for your consideration.
P.S. When we can expect the next version of magic engine? it's been a year or so since the last one (0.99b5) |

The werewolf howl is not choppy on both my PC or Duo, but it's grainy due to the low bitrate sample they used. Very Genesis-like. _________________ Proud owner of a Dreamcast, Saturn, Turbo Duo and a registered version of ME since 2002. |
