Hello, I was trying to relive some of my pathetic childhood today by replaying order of the griffon, but i'm having two problems.

The first is that the right section of the screen is always cut off. i can't see the last character in the party. I don't have this problem with other games.

The second is that when i'm in a fight the music stops whenever a sound effect is made. the music plays fine if you don't do anything, but as soon as you attack or do something that causes a sound effect the music dies.
This is really annoying since i love the music in the game.

So, can anyone give me some information and help me out?

Hi,

I noticed that too.

The game screen is oddly displayed in 256x224 whereas it should obviously be forced in a 336x224 resolution. But since I never played the original TurboChip, I was wondering whether it was normal or not. For sure it looks really weird that way.

The strange bit is that the Inventory screen is actually switched correctly to 336x224 when you press the Select button... Go figure!

if memory serves me, the sound glitch in Griffon is in the ORIGINAL GAME and is not due to magicengine.

how could such a big music bug go unnoticed by the testers? i don't know.
great game though.

Running the game with Ootake, I now understand what's happening. Order of the Griffon is using a split-screen. The status bar at the bottom should be displayed in 336, while the main area is apparently in 256. The inventory screen has no problem since the entire area is in 336x224 (well, 320x200 to be precise).

Time for David to implement in ME the multires feature from MEFX :)

(NB: for the record, Art of Fighting works the same way.)
