Whenever I boot the CD up, I get no video, or audio, Just the number 60 on the top left of my screen. Odd because it worked fine with the older version. |

do you have an original or is it a copy pieced from ISO/mp3? my original copy works flawlessly on 1.0 - (well, not sure if it still has the blue-richter bug or not, didn't play it that far in testing) perhaps the new version is more sensitive to improperly made cds? |

That's exactly what I get!
I've tried with both a virgin 1.0pr-only directory and a 1.0pr-copied overtop a working 99beta5 directory.
So much for a newfangled Dracula X this weekend.
/me returns to playing on .99beta5 |

I get a garbled graphic after the Konami opening, then the cd audio for the intro seems to be out of sinc (first time it did not bother to play at all). Reverting back to previous MagicEngine, this issue is not present. Original Dracula X disc btw. |

I too get nothing but a black screen with the number 60 displayed. System specs are below:
DracX SCD (original)
XP SP1 w/DX 9.0c
AMD64 3000+ w/1GB DDR RAM
ATI 9800 PRO 128 (running duelmon)
120GB SATA Maxtor HD
Sony DRU-510A DVDRW (as my E: drive; HDs C: & D
SB Live!
EDIT: Well, I just tried Dragon Slayer II (JSCD), Ys IV (JSCD), Dead of the Brain II (JSCD) and Super Air Zonk (ASCD) and none of them worked. I think we are missing something..... _________________ -Aaron

Maybe the home made System Card 3 that's in the 0.99.* versions isn't being detected, or a setting isn't right, or perhaps it just wasn't implemented for the v1.0PR. Remember, Dracula X needs the System Card 3 to run, be it the one made for ME, or a "found" version of a real one.
You guys getting a blank screen could try putting a System Card 3 file in there and see if that helps... if you're fine with digging up that kind of thing. |

Yes, I should've mentioned that Syscard3 was installed when I ran it. I left 'Auto' on though in the card selector.. but everything else was greyed out anyway (does magicsystem1-3 even work in this version? I couldn't get it to enable). May try turning off auto and selecting the syscard3 (press space to get the full menu). I've not had any troubles with CD games on my system... none of the audio lag other people have mentioned. |

Yep that was it: I put in a rom of the Super System Card 3.0 and now DracX loads up fine with 1.0. Audio works good as well.
The only thing I'm seeing now with DracX is the corrupt Konami logo that hangs around that Totenmaske saw (but goes away in the next scene). _________________ -Aaron

Got the game working, but the CD audio is choppy for some reason. |

You need to specify the path to your System Card ROMs:
Code: | ;
; system card paths
; --
;
system_card_1="D:\Emulation\Magic Engine\ROMs\System Card 1.00 (J).zip"
system_card_2="D:\Emulation\Magic Engine\ROMs\System Card 2.10 (J).zip"
system_card_3="D:\Emulation\Magic Engine\ROMs\Super System Card 3.00 (J).zip"
system_card_4="D:\Emulation\Magic Engine\ROMs\Games Express CD Card (J).zip"
|
Though I'm not sure which one does the PR1 uses by default. Perhaps it relies on an internal TOC base to detect which BIOS is needed? Anyway, being again able to choose which one to boot from (along with Arcade Card mode) would be neat |
