MagicKit was the first development kit for the PC-Engine, it contains an assembler and a library of functions to help you write games and demos. The MagicKit home page also contains some interesting informations about the PC-Engine hardware.

HuC is a C compiler for the
PC-Engine , it can generate ROM files or ISO files to make CD-ROMs. It comes with a big game library that covers most of the hardware of the PC-Engine. With just a few lines of code you can load graphics, scroll the screen, move sprites, etc... On HuC web site you will also find a lot of sample codes, some demos and games in development, as well as a few tools.
